Women's Basketball Finishes Red Hot on Final Day of Red Lion Classic
PENDLETON, Ore. - The women's basketball team finished the weekend two wins, one loss out of three games to open the 2021-22 campaign. BMCC opened with the Red Lion Classic at home taking on teams such as Edmonds, Lower Columbia, and Clark.
Day 1
The Timberwolves opened Friday's game with a comfortable win 70-52 over Edmonds. Led by Jaelyn Brainard with 25 points (PTS), 9 rebounds (REB), and 4 steals (STL), with strong performances by Sydney Younger with 17 PTS, 9 REB, 7 ASST, and Larissa Yazzie with 14 PTS, 5 REB, 2 STL.
Day 2
BMCC fell in day two to Lower Columbia. Strong showings from freshmen Jaelyn Brainard (10 PTS, 3 REB) and Nane Lokotui (13 PTS, 4 REB) pushed the Timberwolves through four quarters.
Day 3
The Timberwolves then finished the weekend red hot with all out performances by Larissa Yazzie (13 PTS, 2 REB, 5 STL), Jaelyn Brainard (12 PTS, 5 REB), and Nane Lokotui (12 PTS, 6 REB, 4 STL) to take down the Clark Penguins 53-45.
