Baseball Clinches Postseason Play
PENDLETON, Ore. - For the first time since 2009, the BMCC baseball team has clinched the playoffs. The Wolves make history as they took the game one win over rivals Columbia Basin in Pendleton, OR, 9-6. The Wolves would go on to win game two against CBC 7-6 as well to stay in the east region title race against Spokane.
Game One Breakdown
Game one would go on to be a chessgame as both teams scored through the 3rd inning and no runs in the 2nd and 4th innings until BMCC put up four runs in the 5th inning to take off to a 6-2 lead going into the 6th inning. CBC would go on to answer with four runs of their own to bring it to 6-6. The Wolves would then go on to add a run in the bottom of the 6th and two runs in the bottom of the 7th while holding CBC scoreless in the 7th-9th innings.

Game Two Breakdown
The Wolves would take to the field now with a new goal in mind, staying in the race for the east region title and sweeping rivals, CBC. The Hawks would get onto the scoreboard first in the top of the 2nd inning. BMCC would then answer back right away with four runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. The game would go scoreless until the top of the 7th as CBC would go score in back to back innings to bring the score to 4-3. BMCC would go to run away briefly as they scored three more runs in the bottom of the 8th and take the score to 7-3. It would come down to the top of the 9th as the Hawks surged forward trying to pull off the comeback and avoid the road sweep as they scored 3 runs to bring the score to 7-6. BMCC would then get the third out and celebrate their accomplishments. BMCC moves to 24-20 overall and 17-9 in conference.

BMCC baseball will head to Columbia Basin College on Saturday, May 11th for a double header. With one win out of the last two games, the Wolves will guarantee the #1 or #2 seed for the east region. Spokane currently holds the head to head tie breaker over BMCC for the east region title. Spokane will take on Yakima Valley College on Saturday as well at Yakima. All games will start at 1pm with second game to follow thirty minutes following the first game.
