2023 Baseball & Softball Schedules Released
PENDLETON, Ore. - The BMCC baseball and softball seasons are about to be in full swing as they kick off their seasons on February 20th and February 18th, respectively.
The BMCC baseball team during the spring 2022 season finished with a record of 4-44. Looking to rebound to new heights, the team has welcomed 30 new Timberwolves including Brody Rasmussen and Otho Savage to the team as they look to make their marks on the NWAC. The Timberwolves also return 18 sophomores led by Zach Walsh, Matt Carlson, Diego Robison, Jarrett Mink, Dominic Smith, and Tommy Whiles. Coach Derek Bettison will lead the Wolves in his first season this spring.
Bettison has this to say, "We are really looking forward to the start of this season at BMCC. The coaching staff and players have put in a lot of work into getting us to where we need to be to compete day in and day out. We have an exciting group of freshmen this year led be Otho Savage and Brody Rasmussen. A freshman pitcher out of Twin Falls, Idaho, and an Outfielder out of Meridian, Idaho. We return a lot of sophomores that received a lot of valuable playing time as freshman. Jerrett Mink, Matt Carlson, Dom Smith, Zach Walsh and Diego Robison all look to improve on a freshman season. First year players Tommy Whiles, Davis Mauzy and Kayden Mitchel look to make a big impact on the team as well. We couldn't be more excited as a first-year coaching staff! Go Wolves!"
The Timberwolves baseball team open their season on February 20th as they take on Treasure Valley at home in a double header with first pitch at 11am and 2pm. Preseason will conclude on March 25th with NWAC east region play starting on March 29th. The BMCC softball season also kicks off their season with sights to become better than the day before. Second year head coach Ben Knopf and the Timberwolves are coming off a 5-33 record with notable wins over Spokane, Yakima, Wenatchee, and Big Bend. The BMCC softball team return seven led by sophomores Delaney Vibbert, Jamisin Manzanares, AnaReece Weston, Alexis Beaumont, Ayianna Sandoval, McKaylee Orton, and Elizabeth Tuholski. The Wolves welcome 12 new players who will look to help make a statement during the 50 game spring schedule.
Head coach Ben Knopf had this to say about the upcoming season, "With 7 returning players from last season and 12 new ones the team has a great mix of speed and power. The vibe from last year to this season is completely different. Everyone is focused, hungry and motivated to be the beat they can to help the team. Our focus is simply to get better each day by giving a max effort while having a great attitude towards the process. This team has talent in every position and has fantastic potential to compete against the best teams in our conference. Great things will happen when we play together!"
The Timberwolves softball team open their season on February 18th as they take on Clark at home in a double header with first pitch at noon and 2. Preseason will conclude on March 3rd with NWAC east region play starting on March 17th.
